Jimi Hendrix – American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Died from drug-related asphyxia at the age of 27.

Robert Leroy Johnson – American Delta blues singer and musician. Died from possible poisoning at the age of 27.

Brian Jones – British guitarist and founding member of The Rolling Stones. Drowned in his swimming pool at the age of 27.

Janis Joplin – American rock ‘n roll singer. Died of an overdose of heroin combined with alcohol at the age of 27.

Ron “Pigpen” McKernan – American keyboardist and singer of the Grateful Dead. Died of gastrointestinal hemorrhage associated with alcoholism at the age of 27.

Jim Morrison – American singer, songwriter, and lead singer of The Doors. Died of a possible drug overdose at the age of 27.

Alan “Blind Owl” Wilson – American leader, singer and songwriter of Canned Heat. Died of a barbituate overdose at the age of 27.

Amy Jade Winehouse – English singer and songwriter. Died of alcohol poisoning at the age of 27.
