Infographic: Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn Drive Revenue
Here are some numbers related to how social networks impact ticket sales (and other online revenues):
Dollars per share have almost doubled across social networks.
Facebook drives more revenue from ticket sales than any other platform.
Visits Per Share have also increased, with Twitter driving more event page traffic than Facebook and LinkedIn.
Alas, they did not report on the impact of Pinterest, which based on my experience does drive traffic and probably ticket sales.
