A Look Back: Twitter Facts & Figures in 2011
Five years ago Twitter was just an idea with three people working on it. Here is a new Twitter Power User Cheat Sheet infographic to go with the stats below:
Tweet content: 37.5% conversational, 40.1% pointless babble, 8.7% pass-along value, 5.9% self-promotion, and 3.5% news.
Twitter is probably worth over $10 billion.
Lady Gaga followers in May 2011: 10,051,670 and in December 2012: 32,155,851.
Justin Beiber followers in May 2011: 9,662,144 and in December 2012: 31,526,408.
It took 3 years, 2 months and 1 day to go from the first tweet to the billionth tweet.
Users now tweet almost a billion tweets every week.
177 million tweets were sent on March 11, 2011.
