    Brand Design Mistakes

Infographic: 6 No-No’s in Designing Your Brand Image

Avoid Negative Messages – For example, down arrows are perceived as negative images.

Don’t Isolate Customers – Some symbols you might incorporate into your brand could make potential customers feel awkward (such as fish or rainbows).

Avoid Irrelevancy – Make sure your brand image actually matches your message. For example, what’s the goose doing in the Wawa logo.

Don’t Send an Inconsistent Message – There are brands, for example, where a crest logo simply doesn’t work, like dog kennels.

Avoid Generic Images – Generic images make for very bland logos that don’t stand out. For example, what’s with the green block in H&R Block’s brand? Yes, it’s a block but really bland.

Don’t Mess Up – Some images within a brand logo can be really suggestive. For example, check out these two logos:

Monica Strobel on Giving Meaningful Compliments

5 Tips for Giving the Most Meaningful Compliments

Put on your compliment glasses. Focus in on what’s working, the sweet spots not the weak spots, to see the positives to comment on.

Seed your compliments with truth. Always deliver your praise in an authentic way. Avoid empty flattery.

Tune your praise to your audience. Customize your recognition to the person, instead of using common platitudes.

Spread positive gossip. Compliment behind someone’s back. When it gets back to them, it’s doubly uplifting.

Say it now, not later. Don’t wait too long to compliment. Say it immediately upon the positive happening. And give praise along the way through a project, not just at the end.

  • 7 Steps to Becoming a Click Millionaire

    Spread the love

    Click Millionaire

Below are seven key elements to a successful Internet marketing and sales strategy for any individual or business. Learn how to become a Click Millionaire!

    1. Help People – The best place to start a business is where people need help. You are far more likely to find recurring, profitable customers if you serve a need by helping people solve problems or enjoy their lives more.

    2. Expert Credibility – People prefer to buy things from those that they perceive as experts. You can use your own real-life experiences and expertise to position yourself as an expert online, even if you don’t have official expert credibility.

    3. Automation – Web-based tools for e-commerce, marketing, content, and operations can be used to run your business even when you are not on duty. A Click Millionaire business system automates as much as possible to create revenues and a worldwide sales force that never sleeps!

    4. Outsourcing – Hire virtual assistants to do anything you don’t know how to do (or don’t want to do). You’ll be better off investing $10, $20, or even $50/hour to pay others to handle the small stuff while you conserve your valuable time to work on bigger projects and enjoy your life more.

    5. Audience Content Creation – Help your audience create content for you. Blog comments, photos, forum discussions, and directory submissions all help attract more visitors. With more visitors you’ll make more money from advertising and sell more of your own products, too.

    6. Scalability – Scalability means that your business can keep growing, even with less investment of your money and time. Design your business to use software and outsourced help so that adding customers and making more sales can happen automatically online without requiring more work from you.

    7. Recurring Revenues – Stop chasing customers and advertisers for money. Instead switch your accounts receivable billing from one-time invoices and constant renewal negotiations to automated credit card subscription billing. This makes collections easier and more profitable while freeing you to focus on the fun stuff.

Homeowners vs. real estate agents on home prices

Selling your home? Did you agree with your real estate agent’s suggested list price?

Here’s an infographic via Money.com on whether or not homeowners agree with their real estate agents on the suggested list price for their home. Here are the results:

80% of homeowners say their homes are worth more than their agents think.

14% of homeowners agree with their real estate agents.

6% of homeowners say their home is actually worth less than their agents suggest.

Where do you fall? Do you side with other homeowners? Or do you side with the real estate agents?

As a home buyer, I’d always side with the agent. As a home owner, I would always ask the agent to set a higher suggested list price for my home (because, of course, I will always think it’s worth more since I know its true value as a home).

    Converting customers into buyers

Understanding psychology can increase your conversions if you interact with your customers in a more intelligent way. Check out the 10 techniques in this infographic to learn how to apply some science to your marketing.

    1. Help customers break through action paralysis by setting minimums such as free trials or guarantees.

    2. Embrace the power of labels by providing digital badges or special status.

    3. Understand the 3 types of buyers: tightwads, spendthrifts, and average spenders. Encourage the fencesitters (tightwads) by offering lower monthly payments rather than annual payments.

    4. Highlight strengths by admitting shortcomings.

    5. Use urgency the smart way by sending follow-up information containing specific instructions on how to deal with urgent information. Or create urgency via scarcity.

    6. Make their brain light up by offering instant gratification via guaranteed delivery or same-day shipping.

    7. Make an enemy. People will become more loyal if you pit your company against another in a fun way.

    8. Stand for something by giving a portion of sales to a charitable cause.

    9. Be a Devil’s advocate by writing a white paper addressing their concerns.

    10. Keep them on their toes by surprising your customers with unexpected treats, bonuses, and small wows.
