The Art of Being Unmistakable by Srinivas Rao

Our creations show the truth of who we are. They also shape how — or if — the world remembers us when we’re gone.

Somewhere between what your soul knows and what the world wants you to know, is your choice about what kind of story you will live and how you will live it.

Nothing matters. That’s the key to unlocking the handcuffs that keep us imprisoned in worry, self-doubt, fear and disbelief.

Imagine the beauty that would fill our world when people stop wasting their unique gifts on the pursuit of becoming somebody else.

What would happen if we pursued being unmistakable instead of wildly successful by external measures?

Straight and narrow paths rarely lead to interesting destinations.

If you try to mimic, copy, or emulate anybody else, at best you will be a pale imitation.

What would you choose to learn if there were no external rewards? What would you choose to learn if the only reward was a sense of self-fulfillment? That is where the ego disappears, art is created, and callings are found.

There is a fire burning in every one of us to make a dent in the universe.

When you abandon the system, you create something that doesn’t exist. You write history from scratch.

You claim your birthright to change the world in some meaningful way, to make a dent in the universe.

Be honest. Be imperfect. Embrace your inner misfit.

You must let your soul print mark your art. Explore the depths of your soul, the light parts, the dark parts, and the questionable ones. Cross lines, personal and professional. That is the only way you’ll know where they are.

Be your own gatekeeper, tastemaker, and connoisseur of what matters.

You are the final authority on it all. Your sign-off is the one that matters above all.

You get to say whether you live a life filled with meaning and purpose.

Build the Rainbow of Your Success

We design our success in the (invisible) spiritual world. We build it in the physical world.

All big rivers began with a trickle.

Your life is a book. You’re the author. Depending on where you live, you have an average of between seventy to ninety years to write your book.

In a jungle, not only the lions eat!

Ultimately, we’ll be remembered for two things: The problems we helped solve and the problems we helped create. We have a choice.

    Truth is always simple.

Never discourage a young person with a dream. Instead, help and encourage him or her.

If there is no vision of the future, there is no power in the present.

When you think you have exhausted all possibilities, you haven’t. God gives us an all-powerful mind. Use it. Never give up.

What do you want from life?

When asked what do you want from life, seldom is the answer: nothing more, I already have enough.

Don’t buy goods that don’t offer food, shelter, or clothing. Now you are moving towards real freedom and happiness and you will be helping to save our planet.

All we need to be alive are the basics for life and lots of friends . . . meaningful relationships with as many others as possible.

Relationships build reliance on each other so that we have no need to rely on corporations or their products and services to provide our sense of purpose.

It is the ease with which we sleep at night knowing the plight of our fellow humans that is worrying.

The core values of our humanity that we display each day by allowing suffering and exploitation to continue are clearly out of step with our claims to civility as a modern society.

One day we will realize that if we all gave much of what we have to others, in the spirit of cooperation, we would all have more than we could ever need or want.

    Unstoppable by Nick Vujicic

Tragedies occur in every life, and I believe we are meant to learn from them.

We are put in situations to build our character … not destroy us.

It’s a lie to think you’re not good enough. It’s a lie to think you’re not worth anything.

The human spirit can handle much more than we realize.

It matters how you’re going to finish. Are you going to finish strong?

In life you have a choice: Bitter or Better?

I am as imperfect as anyone you will ever meet. I have good days and bad. Challenges rise up and knock me flat on occasion.

I know that where I am weak, God is strong.

My hope is that when people who are in pain see that I have a joyful life, they will think: If Nick, without arms and legs, is thankful, then I will be thankful for today, and I will do my best.

When we put our faith into action, we are unstoppable.

The Essense of Marketing: Making Friendsd

All of marketing ultimately comes down to one thing: creating relationships.

Here are four key tips to help you create effective business relationships:

    1. Create your Kremer 100 list. Don’t try to be friends with thousands or millions of people. You can’t do it. Focus on 100 key media and marketing contacts.

    2. Be persistent. Once you’ve developed a database of key contacts, you must be in touch with them on a regular basis — at least once a month. Tell them something new with each contact.

    3. Create a word-of-mouth army. Since 80% of all books are sold by word-of-mouth, your primary goal in marketing your books is to create a core group of people who will spark that word-of-mouth.

    4. Become a people person. If you are going to become a successful book promoter, you will have to cultivate a fun feeling when you go out into the public. If you genuinely care about people, you will have no problem facing the public. Just open your heart and let it out.

How to Create a Compelling Blog or Website

In the year 2012, with an estimated 180 million blogs online (more than the combined populations of France, Italy, and Spain), and 40,000 blogs started daily, you know you have competition. You need to learn how to create a compelling, addictive blog.

The recipe for an excellent blog is to be so deeply obsessed with something that you need to communicate it to others. — Mark Frauenfelder, founder of Boing Boing

Here are Mark’s 10 tips for building an addictive, compelling website — and a big following:

    1. Tap into the Zeitgeist. If you can tap into the cultural moment, you’ll have a lot of fans. Examples: Playboy and Rolling Stone magazines.

    2. Be original. Make the blog that doesn’t exist yet, but that you’d want to read.

    3. Make the connection. Instead of obsessing on digital marketing, the mission of the blog should be to share information with like-minded people.

    4. Get an attitude. At Boing Boing, we’re not afraid to post items that may get people upset, because that’s a good way to stimulate discussion and promote counterarguments.

    5. Don’t waste people’s time. If you’ve developed a trust with your readers that they’ll get good value for the time they invest in visiting your site, they’ll be back.

    6. Mix it up. We’re as likely to have a post about a chilling political development as something on the frothiest bit of pop culture.

    7. Appeal to the novelty gene. The stuff you blog about has to be unexpected or people will lose interest. 99% of what’s out there is crap. Our job is to find that 1% that’s fascinating.

    8. Let feedback change you. The community feedback has made me more aware of my insensitivities and the blog has evolved because of it.

    9. Think of a friend. When I post something I’ll often have a friend in mind who has the same sense of humor as me.

    10. Keep it real. We try to limit the echo chamber of the blogosphere. We come across interesting people, strange finds, all kinds of surprising things in the world of nature and humanity.

    Stroke Warning Signs

Stroke is a medical emergency. Every second counts, because time lost is brain lost. Know these stroke warning signings and teach them to others:

Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body.

    Sudden confusion and trouble understanding

    Sudden trouble speaking.

Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes.

    Sudden trouble walking.

Dizziness or loss of balance and coordination

Sudden severe headache with no known cause.

If you or someone you’re with exhibits one or more of these signs, call 911 immediately. Get an ambulance with advanced life support sent to you immediately.

If a clot-busting drug is given within three hours of the start of symptoms, it can reduce long-term disability for the most common strokes.
