E Jean Carroll on Reinventing Yourself

    1. Don’t let your assumptions determine who you are.

    2. Don’t waste time yearning for flawless bosses. Every day tell yourself that you will meet a dingbat, a jerkweed, a weakling, a chump, and a scoundrel. Be ready for them.

    3. Don’t pay for a course from a so-called online university. Take free online classes offered by Harvard, Brown, Duke, Stanford, and others on Coursera.org & EDx.org.

    4. Don’t crash industry cocktail parties. Meet a smarter bunch of people by crashing $5,000-a-plate lunches.

    5. Run through museums. You’ll get great ideas faster.

    6. Don’t jump out of an airplane unless you tape your ankles first.

    7. Listen to your fantasies, not your dreams.

    8. Don’t take up a new hobby unless it frightens you.

    9. Don’t take a pole-dancing class. Just stare into the eyes of men on a subway for the same effect.

    Gratitude Rules

    D. L. Hart’s Gratitude Rules

Gratitude is powerful. It can transform your life. It only requires a single step.

You must focus your attention on all the things that are good and right in your life.

Make the conscious choice to focus on the good instead of on the bad or shortcomings.

Focus on gratitude and you won’t think about anything that is hurtful, negative, or painful.

Live a grateful life. Your giving then becomes receiving. By raising another, you raise yourself.

Find your gratitude in everyday things.

Do something nice for someone who can’t pay you back.

Stop worrying, and stop keeping score.

Be grateful for things that did not go wrong.

Be grateful for mistakes where you learn a lesson.

Claim your power and happiness by choosing gratitude.

Monica Strobel on Giving Meaningful Compliments

5 Tips for Giving the Most Meaningful Compliments

Put on your compliment glasses. Focus in on what’s working, the sweet spots not the weak spots, to see the positives to comment on.

Seed your compliments with truth. Always deliver your praise in an authentic way. Avoid empty flattery.

Tune your praise to your audience. Customize your recognition to the person, instead of using common platitudes.

Spread positive gossip. Compliment behind someone’s back. When it gets back to them, it’s doubly uplifting.

Say it now, not later. Don’t wait too long to compliment. Say it immediately upon the positive happening. And give praise along the way through a project, not just at the end.

    Throwing Grapes and Moving Mountains

    God loves you.

God desires to reveal more of Himself to you.

God’s Word, the Bible, has relevance for today.

An honest look at yourself and at God’s Word will change your life.

Reach out to God. He will reach down and find you.

Only God can give peace, joy and and eternal purpose for your life.

God is not mad at you. He loves you!

Jew in Jail Rules of Survival

Here are ten rules of survival while spending time in jail, but these same rules are spot-on as rules for success in daily life as well . . .

Never be afraid to ask for help.

Use the mistakes you made in the past to learn and grow as a person.

Your past does not have to define who you are.

Always remember that you were born with greatness and have unlimited potential.

You have the power to make a difference in other people’s lives by using your experiences as a guide on how to overcome adversity.

Maintain your determination, dedication and perseverance to reach your desired goals in life.

When others say you can’t do something, show them by your actions that you can.

Stay motivated every single day and you can accomplish anything.

The harder you work, the more you can achieve.

You will become proof that it is never too late to change.

    The 7 Rules of Life

Here are the seven rules of life (according to Whisper of the Heart):

    1. Make peace with your past (so it won’t screw up your present).

    2. What others think of you is none of your business. Their opinion really doesn’t matter in the larger scheme of things.

    3. Time heals almost everything. Give it time.

    4. Don’t compare your life to others. Don’t judge them. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

    5. Stop thinking too much. It’s all right not to know the answers. They will come to you when you least expect it.

    6. No one is in charge of your happiness, except you.

    7. Smile. You don’t own all the problems in the world.
