The Quotable Lucille Ball: Here are a few of my favorite quotations from Lucille Ball, a wonderfully funny comedienne and the top funny lady of the 50's and 60's.

If you want something done, ask a busy person to do it. The more things you do, the more you can do.

The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age.

I’m not funny. What I am is brave.

One of the things I learned the hard way was that it doesn’t pay to get discouraged. Keeping busy and making optimism a way of life can restore your faith in yourself.

I would rather regret the things I have done than the things I have not.

Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.

Luck? I don’t know anything about luck. I’ve never banked on it, and I’m afraid of people who do.

Luck to me is something else: hard work—and realizing what is opportunity and what isn’t.

I think knowing what you cannot do is more important than knowing what you can do. In fact, that’s good taste.

motivational bookmark: raise hell and change the world

Never get tired of doing little things for others. Sometimes those little things occupy the biggest part of their hearts.

Keep calm and carry on? I’d rather raise hell and change the world!

    Keep calm and sparkle.

Decide what question your book answers, for exactly whom.

Let your title and subtitle clearly convey the question and identify the audience.

Structure before content – Finish your outline (chapters and subchapters) before beginning to write content.

Do no research while writing. Note your needs as you write, and fill in the blanks only after the manuscript is complete.

    Do no editing while writing.

Do not edit your own writing.
