Mashable: Tweets about Pope Benedict’s Retirement
Mashable: As soon as the news of Pope Benedict’s resignation broke, amateur and pro comedians alike flocked to Twitter to launch their best (Rat)zingers.
Mashable called these tweets hilarious (20 Hilarious Tweets About the Pope’s Resignation). As a Catholic, I am offended. Most of these tweets aren’t funny at all. They are mean, disgusting, inconsiderate, anti-Catholic, and anti-religion.
Our society today has a very distorted view of what’s funny. That’s sad.
